Chiropractic Care for Neck Pain

According to a new study, chiropractic care is far more effective at reducing back pain when compared to taking painkillers like ibuprofen, aspirin or narcotics.

A chiropractor treats neck pain and other common maladies such as back pain, sciatica, headaches and shoulder pain through a holistic and non-surgical way, which makes chiropractic one of the safest treatment options out there.

Unlike other treatment options, chiropractic addresses the root cause of the pain, not just the symptoms. A chiropractor therefore works by evaluating the entire spine and not the neck alone. By treating the entire spine, he/she will be treating the root cause of the neck pain as well as the symptom, which is neck pain in this case.

Before starting any treatment on you, your chiropractor will perform a physical exam so as to understand the mechanics of your body. Other than physical examinations, he will check your medical history and may request for an XRAY or MRI.

After these examinations, he/she will be able to determine whether you need surgery or not. If you need surgery, you will be referred to a spine surgeon.

Treatment Options

Most chiropractors in Sydney and other parts of the world will use a combination of manual therapy, physiotherapy, spinal manipulation and other non-invasive techniques to treat your neck pain.

Some of the spinal manipulation techniques that may be used include, but are not limited to the following:

The above treatments are just examples of neck pain
